The Berkeley Street Cinema is our backyard theater. What is a backyard theater, you ask? It's just like it sounds: a place to watch movies outside.
All you need is a projector, a screen, a source for movies like a DVD player or a VCR, and a sound system.
I started thinking about doing this a few years ago for TV show finales, sports events, etc., but thought it was too much trouble to actually do it. Fast forward a few years. I stumbled across a website called backyardtheater.com and saw not only that people actually do this, but it's a growing phenomenon.
When I mentioned it to my wife, Jacki, I thought she'd look at me like I had grown an extra head. Instead, she thought it sounded like fun.
